Research/Quality Improvement Grants
The Ohio Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine will sponsor two Research/Quality Improvement Grants. Each grant will allow for up to $2,000 in funding towards completion of either a translational research or quality and patient safety focused-initiative in the intensive care unit. The funds cannot be used to cover travel expenses for conference attendance. The funding is to support independent projects, aimed at improving the quality of care or patient safety of critically ill patients by identifying and implementing changes within the intensive care unit. For all grant submissions, the principal investigator and team members are responsible for the design, implementation, and conduct of the independent initiative supported by the grant.
Grant recipients will have two years to complete their project. An update on progress will be required to be submitted to the Ohio Chapter Executive Board every six months. Grant recipients will be recognized during the Spring 2025 symposium which will be held on May 9th, 2025 and present final project results at the Spring 2026 Symposium. Any subsequent publications or abstracts must acknowledge support received by the Ohio Chapter for the work.
The Ohio Chapter Research Committee will be has extended the deadline and will be accepting submissions through April 11th, 2025 at 11:59 PM. Applications should be submitted via email to [email protected] as a PDF document. Highest consideration will be given to submissions that include an interdisciplinary approach to support novel research or implementation of evidence-based clinical practices at the beside. After the review and scoring process is complete, the Research Committee will select the recipients for approval by the Ohio Chapter Executive Board (any committee members who are a team member on a grant application will recuse themselves from the review process). Grant recipients will be notified by April 25th, 2025.

- Healthcare worker in the intensive care unit of a hospital in the state of Ohio
- The principal investigator/project lead must be a current SCCM Ohio Chapter member and must maintain membership throughout the life of the grant
